Idris Elba has been pictured at St James' Park during Newcastle United's crucial Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against fellow Premier League side Southampton.

The English actor, who is famed for his role in BBC drama Luther among others, sat alongside Newcastle United co-owners Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley in the directors' box.

Elba is an avid Arsenal supporter but was in town to witness a potentially historic night on Tyneside.
