The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently released a video showcasing the discovery and subsequent destruction of an underground workshop believed to be used by Hamas for manufacturing weapons. The operation took place in the Bani Suheila area of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, as part of the IDF's 7th Brigade Combat Team's extensive efforts.
During the operation, which spanned several weeks, IDF troops raided numerous terrorist infrastructure sites and successfully eliminated over 70 Hamas operatives through close-quarters combat and aerial strikes. The 603rd Battalion and the Yahalom Unit made a significant find when they uncovered a deep underground tunnel that led to underground workshops and a compound housing weapon manufacturing facilities used by Hamas terrorists.
Following a thorough investigation, the IDF decided to destroy the tunnel route and workshops through an airstrike, effectively neutralizing the threat posed by these facilities.
The escalating tensions between Israel and Iranian proxies Hamas and Hezbollah have raised concerns globally about the potential for a larger regional conflict. The recent assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran has further exacerbated these tensions, with Iran and Hamas pointing fingers at Israel as the orchestrator of the attack.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has vowed to avenge Haniyeh's death, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated Israel's readiness for any scenario that may unfold in the region.
