Las Vegas features three kinds of performers. Most of the biggest residencies are huge names at — or at least near — their artistic peaks.
Adele, Bruno Mars, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Gaga fall into that category. Past shows by Katy Perry, U2, Miranda Lambert, and Maroon 5 also fit into this category.

These are current performers who are still creating new music and could tour nationally. But they have opted for an extended Las Vegas Strip residency. Many of these shows have off-and-on schedules so the artist can tour, record new music, or appear on various music-related reality shows.
The second type of performer, the modern nostalgia act, has more of a nostalgic appeal than a current one. Bands like Boys II Men, The Killers, and performers including Carlos Santana, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, and Shania Twain fit into this category.
Admittedly, the lines aren't fully defined. Some of the nostalgic acts still release new music and could be considered current performers. Still, most of the tickets being sold are based on nostalgia, not current airplay.
The third type of artist that plays Las Vegas residencies is kind of a Vegas-only thing. There are a small handful of legends that harken back to the old days of the city.
These performers have become much more rare. The list includes Wayne Newton and Donny Osmond, who both have residencies at Caesars Entertainment's Flamingo and Harrah's respectively.
There's arguably only one other act on this list, and he just extended his legendary off-Strip residency for another full year.

Barry Manilow still tours
While he has made Las Vegas his long-time musical home, Manilow also has a current Radio City Music Hall residency. He's also undertaking a tour he's calling "The Last Concerts."
The artist is pushing those concerts as the last time he will play in each city the tour reaches.

Manilow may be ending his touring days, but he seems set to play in Las Vegas until he literally can no longer take the stage.

Barry Manilow stays in Las Vegas
Manilow has extended his historic residency at Westgate’s International Theater throughout 2025. The new round of shows begins on Valentine's Day weekend.
"Manilow has announced an entire year of performances beginning Feb. 13-15, running Thursdays-Fridays-Saturdays each month, roughly (no shows in July) through Dec. 11-13. That’s 48 dates in all. Tickets are on sale at the WestgateResorts.com website at 10 a.m. Pacific time July 19," the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
The 81-year-old performer beat Elvis Presley's record for the number of Las Vegas residency shows last September, and he has joked about wanting to continue at Westgate until he's 100.
“The Westgate in Las Vegas has become my second home. I am thrilled I will continue to perform my hits for the fans in such an iconic theater and property," he shared on the resort's website.

When Manilow is not in residency at the International Theater, it hosts a number of other acts including multiple Elvis tribute shows and Kool and the Gang,
Manilow, however, who has sold over 85 million albums with 50 top 40 hits remains the marquee act for the off-Strip property and shows no signs of slowing down.
