Iconic gameshow to return to ITV in just a few days with Noel Edmonds replaced

ITV has officially confirmed that an iconic Noughties gameshow will be returning to TV screens in just a few days time.

Deal or No Deal was one of the most popular gameshows of its time, seeing lucky contestants be in with a chance to win anything from 1p to £250,000.

Although many players walked away with as little as 1p in winnings, the Banker was sometimes gracious.

The original Deal or No Deal aired on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2016 with Noel Edmonds.

However, since ending, the show was shelved before ITV took over and announced they would be rebooting the gameshow with a new host, Stephen Mulhern.

ITV confirms return date for Deal or No Deal

Just a few days away from its grand return, ITV shared that Deal or No Deal will be back on screens from Monday, November 20 at 4pm.

Discussing its return, new host Mulhern wrote on Instagram: "The return of Deal or No Deal has made the ACTUAL news! This is incredible! I’m thrilled you’re all as excited about it as I am! Not long to go…"

Mulhern also thanked former host Edmonds for his support, sharing: "Ahead of the new series of Deal or No Deal, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Noel Edmonds for his support. If I can be half as good as him, I'll be over the moon."

Who is the Banker on Deal or No Deal?

Keeping to its original format, ITV has confirmed that the Banker will be returning to Deal or No Deal.

The identity of the Banker has always been kept a secret to the public and even presenters.

As Mulhern shared whilst speaking on This Morning, saying: "The Banker, let me tell you now, he's a new Banker."

Adding: "I promise now, I swear to you, I promise, I have no idea.

"They (producers) gave me the choice. Do you want to know who the Banker is, or not?

"And they were very fair the producers, 'Do you want to know'? and I said no because if he becomes a friend, well, I can't be on the player's side then, because he can be brutal and I need to stick up for the player because it's their first time on the TV for most of them and it's their chance to win the money."

Deal or No Deal airs on ITV1 and ITVX from November 20 at 4pm.
