Iceland is continuing to support customers during the cost of living crisis by giving away another 40,000 vouchers worth £30 to pensioners.
The frozen foods giant recently announced that it had partnered with The Rothesay Foundation for the launch of their 'Summer Cheer' campaign to support UK pensioners in need.
It has now been awarded a further £1 million from the organisation to offer another wave of vouchers to help those across Scotland and the UK who are struggling.
Pensioners who meet the eligible criteria are being urged to apply as soon as possible as the vouchers will be offered on a first come first served basis, reports Hull Live.
Applications are now currently open and the deadline is Friday, September 16.
The £30 voucher can be spent in 269 of Iceland's stores in 16 areas across the country. These areas include Glasgow, Birmingham, Croydon, Glamorgan, Greater Manchester, Huddersfield, Lambeth (London), Liverpool, Newcastle North, Newport, North Wales, Sheffield, Strathclyde, Sunderland, West Midlands and Wirral.
To qualify for the voucher applicants must be of pensionable age, living independently or with a carer, while relying solely on state pensions and benefits.
Those who meet the criteria are urged to contact the Summer Cheer Hotline on 0800 098 7877 (lines open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).
A voucher will be sent out to successful applicants in the post within seven days of their application.
Richard Walker, Managing Director of Iceland Foods, told the Mirror : “Since the launch of the partnership last Christmas, the cost-of-living crisis has taken hold of the UK, and now more than ever, people are struggling to access the food they need.
No one should ever have to worry about how they are going to eat or drink, and we hope that the support we can offer across the UK will help pensioners access and enjoy a worry-free meal during this difficult time.”
