Ice cream parlour selling mushy peas, pickle and soy sauce flavours - and people can't wait to try them out

Strawberry, vanilla and chocolate are usually the most favoured flavours when it comes to ice cream, but you won't find them at this particular parlour. Instead, customers have a choice of ketchup, Branston pickle, soy sauce, mushy peas and many other unusual flavours to pick from.

Recently launched London ice cream shop - The Ice Cream Project - has perhaps some of the most bizarre options for sale, including sorbets. But that isn't stopping people from eagerly wanting to try them out.

The new parlour, by fashion and accessories designer Anya Hindmarch, has now opened its doors to the public and can be found at The Village in Belgravia, near Hyde Park. It has returned by popular demand after debuting last year and will be around until August 27.

On the menu, visitors can choice from Ambrosia Rice Pudding, Birds Eye Petits Pois, Blue Dragon Original Sweet Chilli, Branston Pickle, Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Kellogg's CoCo Pops. As well as Kellogg's Rice Krispies, Kikkoman Soy Sauce, KP Original Salted Peanuts, Maldon Salt, McVitie's Digestives, Tiptree Lemon Curd, Ribena and Warburtons Crumpets.

On Anya Hindmarch's website, a description of the pop-up shop reads: "With sleek silver freezers packed full of ice cream pots, the Ice Cream Project is a minimalist temple to the joy of ice cream and sorbet, with a twist. The household names inspiring our ice creams are typically found in the pantry rather than the freezer, think savoury sauces, condiments, biscuits, breakfast cereals and even crumpets."

It adds: "Hand-made in small batches in Devon, each original recipe is created with the very best ingredients. Flavours are available by the scoop to savour on the spot, or in 500ml tubs to take away."

Taking to Instagram, Anya Hindmarch shared news of the parlour's return with fans - and many say they can't wait to give the "unexpectedly delicious" flavours a whirl. Clairefyfecooks replied: "Can’t wait to try this!"

Aconsideredspace wrote: "Maldon salt for the win!! (It’s salted chocolate). And a strong runner up spot for the lemon curd." Oscardarling admitted: "Obsessed already for the thought of the crumpets flavour."

Travelwith.style_official declared: "The coolest ice cream." Sagra_london put: "Cant wait!!!!!" Ruthlawrenson tagged a friend and said: "Oh my goodness!!!! Can’t wait, a must-do!!!!" Nicwhit79 added: "Can't wait to visit this year! Last year was fab."

The Ice Cream Project is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday.
