Ianis Hagi admits the Rangers players have had to "adapt" to Gio van Bronckhorst 's different style since Steven Gerrard's departure.
The Romania cap will miss the remainder of the season having underwent knee surgery, but returned to Ibrox to watch his teammates battle it out with Aberdeen.
The playmaker admits the players have had to come to terms with a change in formation since Gerrard's departure for Aston Villa.
However, he insists the Rangers' squad has the quality needed to handle the changes made by the Dutchman.
Hagi told RTV: “There is definitely a difference.
"They are two different coaches, obviously with Steven Gerrard we had tight positions where we were really narrow and then with the boss now we are playing with proper wingers and there is a different shape defensively.
“I think at the end it doesn’t really matter; I mean, it matters to have a shape to the team and a proper identity, but then it depends on the games and the opposition that you face.
“It’s really good, for a manager, who have players who can adapt. I think we can adapt, not only in Scotland but on the European stage, like we did against Dortmund.
“I think we can adapt and do it, it’s about the desire to do so.
“There are differences between the two but we have players who can adapt to the system.”
Hagi has been out since picking up an injury during the Ibrox side's Scottish Cup win over Stirling Albion in January.
But he insist he is doing well on the road to recovery, adding: "I'm good, I'm actually good.
"I think mentally the most important thing is I'm in a good place. I accepted my injury and working to be back now."
