Ian Wright warns Arsenal about what Man City will do next in Premier League title race

Ian Wright has warned former club Arsenal that he doesn't expect Manchester City to lose again this season.

The defending champions are attempting to chase down the Gunners, who currently hold a five-point lead as they look to pull off a surprise Premier League triumph. City have lost for times this term, most recently at Tottenham, but may expected them to peak going into the final months of the season.

Pep Guardiola's side have shown themselves capable of putting together impressive winning runs, most notably when they claimed the title in 2018/19. Arsenal have led the table for almost the entirety of the campaign and Wright admits they will have little margin for error if they want to stay there.

He told The Kelly & Wrighty Show: "Finding a way to win… Arsenal have done that a few times this season and what they are learning on a weekly basis is that this is what is going to have to happen [to win the title]. If I’m playing in Arsenal’s dressing room right now, I’m not expecting City to lose any more games.

"You know that you’re going to have to go out there and if it goes to the last second, that’s what you’ve got to do. You don’t want to look yourself in the mirror and say you could have tried harder in this game or that game. You get some luck… You get some bad luck… But you’re not stopping, you are fighting until the end."

Arsenal secured the latest of late wins on Saturday to maintain their five-point gap. They were facing a shock defeat when Bournemouth took a 2-0 lead but Reiss Nelson's 97th minute strike ensured all three points - just hours after City had beaten Newcastle.

The Gunners now face London rivals in their next two games, which Wright believes could be potential banana skins. "When you look at Arsenal’s next two [top-flight] games, Fulham and [Crystal] Palace, they are two teams who can both cause Arsenal problems. If they get something out of one of those games, it could be a problem," he added.

"Palace for Arsenal at home is a difficult game. We probably have to win all of our [remaining] games. Arsenal have got Liverpool away [coming up], this Liverpool… the rebirth! They’ve assembled again! From now till the end of the season, you can’t call anything."

Arsenal must also travel to City in a game that could yet decide the destination of the Premier League trophy. The defending champions done a job on the Gunners recently, securing a 3-1 win at the Emirates.
