Ian Wright reignites Arsenal's Wolves feud with brutal Ruben Neves question ahead of rematch

Arsenal icon Ian Wright has taken a second shot at Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves by admitting that he was left ‘vexed’ by the Portuguese’s controversial claims.

The Portuguese midfielder slammed the Gunners recently for what he perceived as over-exuberant celebrations at Molineux following their victory.

He said: "We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league."

The comments were certainly contentious and got a number of those from both an Arsenal - and Wolves persuasion - wading in on the debate.

Ian Wright is among those and has admitted his anger at Neves’ opinion.

Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, he said: “I was vexed with Neves, coming out and saying ‘look at how Arsenal are celebrating’.

“What’s wrong with you?

“That’s an unbelievable result for Arsenal the way that you lot have been playing. 1-0 nil down with ten men away from home and we get the goal [win]. That is cause for celebration!”

It is not the first time that the former Arsenal striker has expressed his thoughts on the issue.

Shortly after the Gunners’ win in the Midlands, coming courtesy of Gabriel Magalhaes’ strike, he took to Twitter with an image of himself, alongside the caption “still celebrating”.

As the debate goes on, the rivalry between the two sides is set to be reignited sooner rather than later.

Arsenal host Bruno Lage’s men at the Emirates Stadium next week, with the game having originally been rescheduled in late December.

Wolves managed to earn victory in north London last term with goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence securing three points despite Gabriel once again finding the net.
