Ian Wright mocks Alan Shearer after what Harry Kane did during Tottenham vs Everton

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has mocked Alan Shearer after Harry Kane scored twice for Tottenham on Monday night, closing the gap on the Premier League all-time goalscoring record.

A typically composed finish and a sublime left-footed volley from the 28-year-old helped Antonio Conte's side to a 5-0 win against Everton as they continue to chase down the top-four.

The strikes took him above Thierry Henry in the current standings of Premier League goals and onto 176 strikes. He now sits just one behind Frank Lampard, eight behind Sergio Aguero, 32 behind Wayne Rooney and 84 behind Shearer.

After the final whistle, Teddy Sheringham gave his verdict on Kane, revealing that he had no doubts he would overtake Shearer at the top of the standings one day.

"Without a doubt," he said on Sky Sports coverage of the game.

"Like he just said, he has got a lot of years left in him and he has probably got at least give more years left at the top. The way that he scores goals every year, he will without a doubt beat that record.

"He is the best in the world. There is no doubt about it.

"I was probably more impressed with Harry rather than the Tottenham team. I think it was a comfortable game with a good early start that Everton gifted them. And then Harry shows his quality later on in the game.

"They are both great finishes, both different finishes and the fourth goal 40 seconds after the restart kills Everton off."

Sheringham was not the only one impressed with Kane as the England captain continued his return to form after a tricky opening to the Premier League season.

Wright took to TikTok on Tuesday to share his praise and mock Shearer at the same time, implying in his video that his fellow pundit should be getting nervous about his record.

In the caption of the clip, the former Gunner wrote: "Top quality finishes from Harry Kane last night. Give him his flowers."
