Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli was snubbed as an option from the bench for Brazil in their World Cup quarter-final clash against Croatia. It came as the Selecao struggled to break down their opponents on the evening, being forced to take it to extra-time with a goalless game after 90 minutes.
Despite making a handful of switches, Martinelli was still looked over as Neymar Jr stayed on the pitch after a disappointing performance. It only took the Paris Saint-Germain star one opportunity to make it count though as in extra-time he had a little give-and-go to find himself through on goal.
The forward rounded Dominik Livakovic to slide the ball home and give his nation the lead in a huge goal in the context of the tournament. Brazil weren't able to see that threat out though as a counterattack saw them picked off through Bruno Petkovic's late strike.
