Ian Evatt sends Bolton Wanderers season ticket sales message ahead of Wigan Athletic clash

Ian Evatt believes that Bolton Wanderers have reconnected and built trust once again with the club's fanbase which has been evidenced by the season ticket sales.

Wanderers have shifted more than 12,000 season tickets ahead of the 2022/23 campaign thanks to a special early bird campaign.

It has offered season tickets at a reduced price and have been snapped up by supporters ahead of the following campaign and eclipses the number sold last summer, which stood at around 10,500.

The Whites boss believes that trust has been rebuilt with the club's fanbase and is in awe of what Wanderers is now compared to when he arrived at the club nearly two years ago.

Bolton have achieved automatic promotion out of League Two and still have slim hopes of being in the play-offs by the end of this campaign, but if not, could well have a top 10 finish upon their return to League One.

Wanderers are taking more than 4,000 fans to Wigan Athletic this afternoon as they seek to keep alive those faint hopes of being in the top six, as they sit 11 points from them before kick-off.

And Evatt says Wanderers will give it their best shot today, where a win would be a huge result for the club and its supporters.

He said: "I think what we’ve done is we have reconnected with the fans and we have built a trust again, and that comes from the very top with Sharon (Brittan) and the board, and then what we are trying to do on the football side.

"The club is in an amazing place compared to what it was when I first joined less than two years ago.

"It is astounding how far we have come really and I think sometimes you lose perspective and sight of what we have actually achieved and done.

"But it is a results-based business. We want results and there is no bigger one for our fans than going to Wigan and winning on Saturday, so we are going to give it our best shot."
