Ian Bankier's Celtic financial address in full including player sales, transfers and pre-tax profit

Ian Bankier has delivered a detailed update over Celtic's annual PLC results up to June 30, 2022 as he revealed close to £40million transfer spends, profit before tax and a big money intake from player sales.

It has been a successful period on the park for Celtic with Ange Postecolgou landing the Scottish Premiership title back from Rangers at the first time of asking. He also lifted the Premier Sports Cup as part of a domestic double in his first season and with that league success secured automatic Champions League qualification.

That allowed the Hoops board to add greater strength to the current squad with the financial windfall from competing at Europe's top table. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota had successful loan spells turned into permanent stays while Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist also arrived in June to take the total playing squad investment just shy of £40million. Close to £20million was gained year to year on the sale of player registrations with the 2021 total netting £9.4m with this year sitting at £29m.
