NEW DELHI: Another father-son duo has generated sonic booms on fighter jets together. What made it special was that it was the IAF chief himself and his son, and that too on the new Rafale omni-role fighter jets from an airbase close to the Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet tri-junction on the eastern front with China. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari flew a sortie with his son Squadron Leader Mihir V Chaudhari as part of a combat training mission of three Rafales from the Hasimara airbase in West Bengal on September 6.
“The sortie flown by the chief and his son is a continuation of IAF’s finest traditions and underlines the importance accorded to grooming and preparing our young leaders for the challenges of the future,” an officer said on Friday.
