I would love to return to Rangers years after release - just not this summer

Red-hot Robbie Ure has admitted he would love to return to Rangers - just not this summer.

The 22-year-old left Ibrox in 2023 to sign for Anderlecht, featuring regularly for their second team and finding the net 12 times across two seasons in the Challenger Pro League, Belgium's second tier.

Then came a move to IK Sirius in Sweden - hitting 11 goals in his debut season. And he has now already matched that number in as many appearances as he leads the Allsvenskan's scoring charts.

Ure is now attracting interest across Europe thanks to his performances and has ambitions of playing at a high level.

He admits he wouldn't be looking to return to Scotland at this stage, but would love to return to Rangers one day.

He told the BBC: "It's normal when you're young and you're playing well in a good league, you're going to have interest from good leagues and good clubs.

"Especially when I score four goals, I think the noise is going to increase. It's something that I'm going be interested in, if I think it's the right thing for me.

"But we have to just wait and see. It's a long summer in the transfer window. Until I'm told otherwise, I need to help Sirius.

"If we continue playing like we have been, then I think it could be a really special season. At the moment, I don't think I would come back to Scotland.

"One day, you never know. I'd love to return to Rangers.

"That's just me trying to test myself and see what league I can go to. I feel like I'm in a really good position and I just need to keep going.

"That was the plan when I first came to Sweden, to develop as a player and go on to bigger things. Until then, I need to stay focused and I need to keep proving myself."
