Varun Chakaravarthy etched his name in the history of Indian cricket as the country's oldest one-day international debutant since 1974, when he was awarded his ODI cap ahead of the second match of the series against England in Cuttack on Sunday.
At the age of 33 years and 164 days, mystery-spinner Chakravarthy is now second in the overall list of India's oldest ODI debutants, behind former wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer who featured in India's inaugural match in the format back in 1974.
