'I went to Tesco and missed out on £5k by the skin of my teeth'

I drove to Tesco in the hope of winning £5k - and missed out by the skin of my teeth.

Tesco shoppers are currently in for a chance of winning a whopping £5,000 if they manage to find a certain man hiding in stores across the county. Customers can get their hands on the money if they successfully locate Will - who will be dressed up as the fictional 'Where's Wally' character - and provide the right password.

‘Where’s Willy’ is appearing in 500 stores across the UK that Jubel Beer has been launched at. Instead of the traditional red and white striped t-shirt, ‘Where’s Willy’ is wearing a white and orange striped t-shirt to resemble the colours of Jubel beer.

The search for ‘Where’s Willy’ began yesterday. He updates people by posting a picture or video onto Jubel Beer’s Instagram stories giving away clues with each story as to what Tesco he is in. I received a message from my brother saying: “I swear this is St Helen’s Tesco, go down now!” - I don’t think I have ever left the house so quickly.

As soon as I arrived, I took a selfie of myself outside of Tesco and sent it to the Jubel Beer Instagram page along with saying it was Tesco in St Helens as without following these steps you cannot receive the password. They responded after a few minutes with the password I needed to give to Will if I found him, which was ‘Llandudno’.

I was running around Tesco searching every single aisle like a madwoman. I must’ve ran 50 laps of Tesco over the space of around 30 minutes searching every place possible before eventually admitting defeat and accepting that he had moved on to another Tesco store.

Unfortunately, Will was in St Helens Tesco for over an hour before I realised just how close he was. The game will end when someone finds him, tells him the password and claims the £5,000 cash prize.
