The Greggs bakery outlet store in Ely, Cardiff, is in many ways just like the hundreds of other Greggs branches across Wales. It sells a wide range of baked goods from sausage rolls to sandwiches and sweet treats. The big difference here is that they're all sold at a fraction of the price.
For many people in the UK, Greggs is the number one breakfast or lunch spot, with over 2,000 stores in the UK. However, with the cost of living on the rise many people cannot afford to be paying £1.20 for a sausage roll anymore, that's where outlets come in.
Greggs have a number of bakery outlets around the UK but only a limited number in Wales, with one in Barry and one in Cardiff. Greggs outlet stores sell their much loved nation favourites at discounted prices. The food on sale is stock that didn't sell on the day they were made, and is delivered from nearby chains.

Some of the bargains I found in store included four sausage rolls for £1.55 - almost 50% off - children's sandwiches for just 55p, and two pasties for £1.25, which is £2.35 off from the original price.
Although everything is much cheaper, the best deal included three packs of multiple sweets treats or £1. That means you could buy twelve jam doughnuts for £1 instead of paying £6.60.
We spoke to shoppers at the branch who said they loved the prices and the food tasted exactly the same. Pastor Dave Pritchard from the Ely Baptist Church said: "It's the best in the city, it has great prices and myself and the crew love the food there." He bought two cheese and ham baguettes for £1.05 each and cakes for a picnic.
Paul James said he buys food at the outlet store because "it's better value for money, the food is fresh and a fraction of what you'd pay normally".
The busiest time of day for the Greggs outlet store on Grand Avenue, Ely, is between 9-11am, according a member of staff there, who said: "Most of our customers are council workers, people working in construction, parents on the school run or carers." The food sold at the store is sourced from all over Cardiff and is a sustainable way to dispose of the food and sells out almost everyday.

Kieron Phillips ordered a flat white that comes with a free cake for £1.95 and David Finnamore picked up a baguette for £1.05 and two apple danishes for 55p. They said "We come to the outlet store because it is convenient for as we work in the area. The prices are better here and the food tastes the same." David added, "why would I pay £3.60 when I can pay £1.05 for the same product?"
Luke Pogson bought a pack of four sausage rolls, a sandwich, caramel shortbread bites and a drink for just £4, he said "I come here regularly because of the price, it is crazy cheap. It is also good for buying food for my kids' lunches."
