'I went to McDonald's drive-thru for a snack - but was given a bag full of cash'

When unwrapping your McDonald's order, most people hope a crew member accidentally added an extra chicken nugget to their meal - but not everybody is so lucky. However, one man claims to have been served much more than his McMuffin when nipping into McDonald's drive-thru for a quick breakfast bite.

Josiah Vargas, who is known as @dookiedeoboy on TikTok, says he was handed a bag full of cash alongside his order when visiting a McDonald's in the States.

He said: "I just went to McDonald's and he handed me my sausage McMuffin and this bag - well, what's in this bag? Their deposit. Why? Just a couple thousand dollars here. What is this? Why would they do this? Now I have to return it because I'm a good person, I guess. How interesting."

In the view, Josiah is seen entering the fast food branch carrying the bag full of money before asking an employee, "Are you guys laundering money here?"

After seeing the cash, one crew members says: "Oh my God, I really want to give you a hug", while others praise him for bringing it back in.

Josiah added: "They were just all hugging me and thanking me and crying, and I get free McDonald’s for a month, I guess.

"When I was driving away, they called me back in to give me $200 [£160]. Do good people, return $5,000 and get $200 and free McDonald's for a month - good trade value."

The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times and has racked up almost 15,000 views in a matter of hours.

One user said: "Bro, you probably just saved all their jobs."

Another user added: "Nice! That $200 is worth all the good karma for helping those workers."

A third user said: "Someone kept their job because you did the right thing good on you man."

However, others claim they would have kept the money, and drove away as if nothing had happened.

One user said: "I would have McNever gave it back."

Another user added: "Every time I’ve been told the ice cream machine was down would have played in my head over and over when making the choice."

The Mirror has contacted McDonald's for a comment.
