A Disney mega fan who visited one of the parks on Christmas Day says the opportunity "was unlike anything I had ever experienced before."
In the 51 years since it opened, Walt Disney World in Florida has grown to become the biggest attraction in the world, with an average annual attendance of more than 58 million visitors.
For many people who grew up during the company's 90's renaissance or are more recent fans brought onboard by the likes of Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Tron, a trip to the Mickey Mouse Mecca is top of the bucket list.
One man who has spent his life in love with the dream weaving firm was lucky enough to experience Disney World at the most magical time of the year.
Luke, founder of the blog USA Rover, visited Walt Disney World Orlando with a Christmas Day ticket in 2018 - and he shared his experience with Attractiontickets.com.
”The atmosphere on Christmas day was unlike anything I had ever experienced before," he recalled. "The park was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights, trees, and more holiday decor, making it truly feel like a winter wonderland.
"Even the staff were in the holiday spirit, wearing festive decorations and greeting us with Christmas cheer."
Luke was surprised to find that the park was bustling but not too busy.
"Surprisingly, despite it being Christmas Day, the park was not that busy," he continued.
"Of course, the wait times were longer than usual, due to the extra visitors who had come to celebrate the holiday, but it was nothing unbearable.
"On Christmas day, we had the usual Disney fare for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner, we decided to go to Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is inside the iconic Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom.
"It was a magical experience, with a special festive menu and a special appearance by Santa."
Luke had chosen to stay onsite at Disney’s All-Star Resort, which he said offered "a wonderful Christmas experience".
He explained: "There were holiday decorations around the resort, festive music playing, and a special visit from Santa. We were also given a special Christmas Day pin that could be worn throughout the park.
"I have now been to Disney World during the holidays multiple times, and I would highly recommend it. It is a truly magical experience that I will never forget.
"The atmosphere was festive, the decorations were beautiful, and the sheer joy that filled the air is something that I will never forget.
"I am sure that I will be back again in the future to experience another magical Christmas Day at the happiest place on Earth."
This year there are several Christmas specific attractions at Disney World.
They include the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays of live music with a candlelight processional and gospel performances and much more, a visit from Father Christmas at the Odyssey Pavilion and holiday scavenger hunts.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will see a fireworks display and parade before Cinderella's Castle is lit up with festive projections.
