I Was Unsure About Pantone’s Color of the Year, but Joanna Gaines’s Chic Stoneware Table Decor Has Changed My Mind

White teapot, saucers and mugs on a wood tray.

I'll always admire the look of a minimalist tablescape, but I have to admit that I don't often lean towards a neutral color palette. After Pantone's selection of 'cloud dancer' as its 2026 Color of the Year, however, I've been keen to experiment with some ivory shades, and I think I've found the perfect opportunity: Joanna Gaines' latest drop from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia is brimming with sleek, white tableware.

Crisp white table linens and classic porcelain dinnerware provide an easy way to channel the cloud white theme, but Joanna's new collection offers a more rustic take. The first piece I spotted was the Target Stoneware Teapot, which is finished in a gorgeous sour cream shade – and it pairs perfectly with the etched Target Stoneware Coffee Mugs. I might be wary of neutrals, but these elegant pieces are convincing me that neutral shades can still make an elegant statement.

Initially, I was drawn in by Joanna Gaines' pastel tableware at Target, and I love that she's experimenting with spring-inspired colors like sage green and pale blue. After taking a look at the more muted pieces from Hearth & Hand, however, I've been totally won over by the minimalist look.

The beauty of neutral pieces, of course, is that they create the perfect backdrop for any scheme, so I can always add a few pops of color into the mix. With a new year stretching out ahead of me, I know there will be plenty of time to play with bold hues and busy patterns – but for now, I'm embracing the simplicity of cloud dancer-inspired tableware and layering up gorgeous off-white shades. Check out my favorite Hearth & Hand pieces below.
