A scream went up outside a pub in central London last night. You’d have thought something terrible had happened but in fact it was ex-footballer Peter Crouch and model Abbey Clancy pulling up to a pub in a blacked-out car. They were arriving for a party to celebrate Agent Provocateur’s Christmas Campaign, which the duo star in.
In the raunchy advert, a furious, red lingerie clad Clancy marches into a pub where Crouch is playing snooker with his mates, ties him up, and promptly fires a snooker ball into his nethers. “A gentle reminder from Agent Provocateur not to forget date night this Christmas,” it concludes. Not your average John Lewis Christmas fairytale.

The Standard caught up with Crouchy at the party, who is the first man to have starred in an Agent P campaign in a decade. ”I think I was the star of the show, really,” he joked, adding that he thoroughly enjoyed his “little cameo”.
“It’s a great brand and Abbey looks incredible – it’s all about her tonight,” he went on. The party was held at the Marquis of Cornwallis in King’s Cross, where the advert is also set. Among the guests were actress Jaime Winstone, who plays the pub landlady in the campaign, as well as Agent Provocateur’s creative director Sarah Shotton, who said shooting the campaign was “as fun as it looks”.
Singer Paloma Faith and Jools Holland gave a special performance, while the crowd included Lola Bute, Lennon Gallagher, Daisy Lowe and Doja Cat, who then casually slipped off down the road to perform at the Gladiator II afterparty.
