The much-praised Spider-Man: Brand New Day ushers in a new chapter for Tom Holland’s well-crawler within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it’s as thrilling as it is emotional. While the film could – in some ways – arguably be viewed as a bookend to Parker’s story, there’s still so much that can be done. Something that I (and other fans) have wanted to see is the arrival of the black, symbiote outfit. Holland also seems to share that enthusiasm, but he does have a reasonable and practical concern about bringing it into the fold.
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 marked the first (and so far, only) time the alien symbiote was shown bonding with Peter Parker in a live-action film. The ooze-like substance has more recently been heavily featured in the Venom trilogy, though having it interact with Peter could create some even more interesting stories. Holland recently appeared on that Happy Sad Confused podcast, during which he revealed his love of the black suit to host Josh Horowitz.
