McDonald's has over 1,450 restaurants across the UK & Ireland - could this one really be the worst?
A local reporter decided to find out by heading down there for a burger and chips.
Isabelle Bates of BirminghamLive was initially surprised at how busy it was during her visit.
Isabelle's review
Straight away I was left surprised as soon as I turned into the road leading to the McDonald's car park off the busy Dudley Road. So many cars were queuing to get onto the site, they were almost sticking out of the junction into the main road.
In fact, the car park was so busy that I was forced to park in the hotel car park over the road. It was very apparent that despite the location's bad reviews, diners were not being put off.
Upon entering, the restaurant seemed like any other McDonald's I've visited. Slightly loud music mixed with the noise of shouting teenagers and the smell of grease.
I decided to order my food on the self-service machine. Despite the line of cars outside, the restaurant wasn't too busy and there was only a small queue to the tills despite it being lunchtime.
I chose table service and waited seven minutes for my chicken Big Mac, fries, drink and McFlurry to arrive. After sheepishly checking for fake nails, I dug in.
The food was a little bland, but I'm unsure if this was the fault of the location or McDonald's itself. For the price of just under £8 however it would have been nice to have not sat at a table adorned with crumbs and an empty sauce packet.
I only engaged with one staff member who brought me my food and she was very nice and polite. I could see someone clearing up, so the workers are clearly trying their best to make the restaurant as good as it can be.
TripAdvisor reviews have given the Kingswinford site an average of two out of five stars.
And while I don't agree with such a low rating, I will not be in a rush to hurry back.
A McDonald's spokesperson said: "We are proud to serve around four million customers a day in over 1,450 restaurants across the UK & Ireland.
"Our restaurant teams work hard to ensure every customer who orders a McDonald's has a positive experience, and we’re disappointed to hear of any instances that fall short of our high standards.
"We'd encourage any customer with a complaint to either speak to a member of the crew in the restaurant or get in touch with our customer services team."
