There is no shortage of things to do on a day out in Blackpool. A spin on the big wheel, a ride on a donkey, fish and chips on the beach and a trip to the top of its famous tower are just a handful of activities you might want to tick off your list.
Blackpool's piers and promenade are filled with arcades and wacky activities, but it was the palm reading rooms that captured the attention of Lancashire Live reporter Rebecca Lockwood, who decided to get two readings done, eight months apart, and put the predictions to the test.
In August last year, Rebecca decided to visit 'palmist to the stars' Leanora Petulengro, who has read the palms of celebrities including boxer Tyson Fury. The family has two reading rooms on the promenade as well as one on Blackpool's central pier.

"When I last visited, I was drawn in by nothing but intrigue," Rebecca explained. "I had never had my palm read before then and thought it would be fun. But as you walk away and continue with life, you wonder whether there was any truth to what you've been told at all."
Rebecca decided to return to the reading room a second time and see if what she was told eight months later would match up. After coughing up a total of £30 for the reading - £10 more than she paid last time - she laid out her two hands in front of her palmist.
Here's what Rebecca found out, reports Lancashire Live.
Children
"In my visit last year, my palms said I was having two children, a boy and a girl, and they would come soon," Rebecca said. "To my surprise, in my second reading my palms said the same thing."
Rebecca admitted she raised an eyebrow in surprise at the prediction, and said suggesting two children of either sex was "quite vague".
"I was sceptical but surprised," she said, adding:"I would love to hear my palms tell me I'm going to have 12 boys. Get more niche, its more believable."
She continued: "Last year I was told my children would be 'coming soon' which felt a lot like a trailer for a horror film. However, now my palms said I was 'anxious' about conceiving despite my future saying the children would be a great comfort to me". When pressed on what the anxiety could be, Rebecca said she replied: "I have no idea, I'm not even planning on having kids right now" and the reading moved quickly on.
Marriage
Rebecca did not tell her palm reader that she is in a relationship, but her palm reader seemed to know, telling her that her current relationship "will go from strength to strength" and that she will "marry once and it will be for life".
"I don't know what my palms did to point this out," Rebecca explained. "I wasn't wearing any jewellery that could have given a committed impression, maybe I just have a lovable face.
"Last year, Leanora told me that I would marry my current partner and our marriage would be “happy” and “comfortable”. Seems this palm game is matching up."
Moving away
Rebecca admitted that some of the things she was told "felt weirdly relevant" given the little information she gave to her palm reader. "I cannot stress enough how little information I told her," she explained. "I literally just told her my current occupation."
She said she felt "really weird inside" the moment the palm reader told her she needed to move away from Lancaster if she wants to be happy. "This past week I have struggled with feeling a tad lonely in Lancaster," Rebecca said. "How did she know that? She didn't even point out which part of my palms were grassing me in on my pent up emotions."
She said the palm reader then told her she worries too much - but Rebecca admits "I don't think I needed to have paid £30 to reach that conclusion".
The conclusion
"There were a couple of things that came up in my reading that didn't before," Rebecca said. "My palms said again that I would travel a lot and that I'd live to a very old 'burden-less' age which made me laugh."
She said it was even noted for a second time that she was "surrounded by jealousy" and specifically that "one of my friends is 'deceitful'". She said that reading has made her feel "weirdly suspicious around people now".
Summing up the experience, Rebecca said: "Sure, the observations were vague and things I assume could be presumed of anyone. For example, if you're willing to pay £30 to look into your future, you're probably a spare bit of cash and money is something easy to be jealous of. But the last one [on moving away] was a little too close to home. I raised more than an eyebrow - I squinted at her in a what do you know way.
"I worked out last time that people go to these things because it makes them feel better or it gives them hope in a tough time. I still believe that, but now I am more suspicious than ever."
