Simon Jordan has said that he has become a “massive advocate for Manchester City” after criticism from Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are already busy preparing for a vital week in their season, with the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Benfica kicking-off on Tuesday. That will then be followed by a crucial top of the table clash with Manchester City at the weekend.

“Yes, I listen from time to time. I cannot say I’m a fan of Simon Jordan, to be honest, not always,” he said . “Sometimes I share his opinion, more often than not, I don’t share it but that’s not a problem. It’s entertainment.”

The Liverpool boss added the reason why he tunes into the radio show: “By the way I don’t listen to it for information reasons, I listen to it to improve my English! Because we have a Scottish guy and an English guy and other dialects on talkSPORT as well so that’s why I try to get more into the language, that’s the reason.”

Responding to what Klopp had to say on Monday, Jordan said he would be on City’s side in the potential title-decider this weekend. In a light-hearted reply to Klopp, the pundit said: “I’ve now decided that I am a massive advocate for Manchester City and I shall spend my entire time trying to pick holes in Jurgen Klopp because he doesn’t like what I have to say!”
