
I’m pretty obsessed with sleep. I’ve invested in a great mattress, a ridiculously fluffy Hungarian Goose Down Duvet, and a blackout eye mask that blocks light without leaving sleep creases around my eyes. So when I came across Woojer’s haptic wellness mattress topper, it immediately caught my attention.
The Woojer MAT claims to improve sleep quality, reduce stress and optimise recovery using low-frequency vibrations designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. In layman’s terms, that means deeper relaxation, better rest and improved recovery – all without changing your bedtime routine.
It sounds impressive, but that promise comes with a premium price tag. Still, if something genuinely helps me fall asleep faster, sleep more deeply and wake feeling more energised, I’m willing to give it a go.
So I tested Woojer’s wellness mattress topper as part of my usual sleep setup to see whether it lived up to the claims – or whether it was just another piece of high-tech wellness kit that promised a lot and ate into my bank balance.
WOOJER MAT REVIEW: PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Woojer launched the Woojer MAT, billed as the ‘world’s first’ haptic wellness mat and mattress topper, in December 2025. The mat is priced at £766 / $799, and available to buy at Woojer.


WOOJER MAT REVIEW: TESTING PROCESS
Unboxing the Woojer MAT set expectations high. The packaging promises immersive stillness, muscle and back relief, restorative sleep, stress reduction, mindfulness, improved energy and even relief from period pain. It’s an ambitious list and one that immediately raises the bar.
Once unpacked, reality became clearer. Rather than a full-width mattress topper, the Woojer MAT is a single-width mat designed to sit on top of the bed. That changed how I imagined using it. I’d pictured something integrated into my sleep setup; in practice, it’s more of a targeted recovery and relaxation mat than something you sleep on every night.
That distinction matters at this price. While the mat can be used on any bed size, only one person can use it at a time. If you share a bed, it’s not practical for overnight use and could easily spark some night time FOMO.
Once I reset my expectations, however, the Woojer MAT made more sense. It’s not a mattress replacement; it’s a focused vibration therapy tool designed for intentional recovery and relaxation.

WOOJER MAT REVIEW: SETUP
Despite the ‘mattress topper’ label, the Woojer MAT looks closer to a yoga mat. It weighs 14.8lb and is made from breathable airmesh fabric. While it’s foldable and easy to move around the house, it’s not something I’d realistically travel with.
Setup is straightforward. I placed it on the bed, plugged it in and powered it on, so the whole process took just a few minutes. My nine-year-old was eager to try it first, so I let him sleep on it using one of the delta-wave restorative sleep sessions. Within 20 minutes, he was fast asleep, noticeably quicker than usual.
From elsewhere in the house, the vibrations were faintly audible – more of a low hum than a noise – but lowering the intensity via the app reduced this. He was also wearing headphones which helped. It quickly became clear that this is best suited to short, intentional sessions or the occasional daytime nap, rather than nightly use – unless you sleep alone or regularly wear sleep headphones which neither applied to me.

WOOJER MAT REVIEW: APP AND PERFORMANCE
Getting the Woojer MAT running was refreshingly easy. It plugs into the mains, connects via Bluetooth and pairs with the Woojer MAT app, with no subscriptions required. The connection stayed stable throughout testing.
You can also connect via USB-C or AUX, allowing music, meditations or soundscapes to be converted into gentle, full-body vibrations. This is powered by Woojer’s proprietary haptic transducers, which translate sound into physical sensation rather than just audio. The result is deeply immersive and surprisingly relaxing.
The app includes a wide range of vibroacoustic sessions, from deep relaxation and restorative sleep to stress relief, mental clarity and post-workout recovery. Sessions last between five and 30 minutes, and intensity is fully adjustable.
The effect is genuinely soothing. The vibrations feel immersive without being overwhelming, and there’s solid science behind low-frequency stimulation helping reduce stress and fatigue.
Did it send me into deep relaxation? Absolutely, and faster than I expected. Recovery-focused sessions also left me feeling looser and calmer. While it’s hard to assess long-term muscle recovery after just a week, I consistently felt more relaxed and rejuvenated after even short sessions.


WOOJER MAT REVIEW: VERDICT
There’s no escaping the price. This is a lot of money for what is, ultimately, a vibrating mat, and despite the marketing, it’s not a true mattress topper, especially if you share a bed.
That said, it’s found a genuine place in my routine. The Woojer MAT now lives on my son’s single bed, where I use it for meditation, relaxation and short recovery sessions. In that context, it makes far more sense.

Would I love to fall asleep on it regularly? Yes. On the occasions I did drift off with it running, and I woke feeling noticeably more rested and relaxed. But in a shared bed, it’s simply not practical.
It’s expensive, yes. But as a dedicated recovery and relaxation tool, the Woojer MAT delivers. Just be sure to add it into your wellness routines, otherwise I feel it could get forgotten, which is why I was hoping to use it at night time and not as something else to squeeze into an already busy life.
