I tried Waitrose Essentials range for my weekly shop and felt it was 'a little out of touch'

A number of supermarkets have their own budget own-brand lines. Asda has been in the headlines recently for its new Asda Just Essential line.

The Morrisons Savers range and the Essential Waitrose range are among others currently on the shelves. With that in mind, one reporter decided to buy all of their weekly show from one of the ranges.

With the cost of living crisis biting, they have already had to cut the luxuries out of my weekly shop but had yet to shop entirely from a budget range, as reported by Birmingham Live. I could have gone easy, and tried Asda or Morrisons which were both guaranteed to be cheaper.
