Beauty advent calendars are the must-have of the season, having skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. The thing is, they often don’t come cheap. Promising hundreds of pounds worth of products, typically for a fraction of the price, they’re a luxurious addition to your morning routine throughout December.
But with purse strings well and truly pulled in as a result of the cost of living crisis, many won’t be able to afford the £185 Lush calendar or £95 LookFantastic offering.

Last year, the Revolution calendar went viral online, selling out ahead of December - and the You Are The Revolution 25 Day Advent Calendar 2022 is expected to be popular among beauty buffs on social media again this year .
The Advent Calendar is worth a whopping £94, but retails for less than half that, priced at £45. At the time of writing, there’s also a further £10 off, making it just £35 - saving shoppers a total of £59 on the price if purchased individually.
It’s one of the few calendars on the market this year to have a whole 25 doors to open. There’s nothing that annoys me more than a 24-day calendar - besides a 12-day calendar, obviously. Everyone wants to find a total showstopper on Christmas Day, before opening their stocking or giving out gifts to their loved ones.
The Revolution calendar is designed to set shoppers up with 25 days of ‘ultimate glam’ , including full sized products such as lip glosses, highlighters, eyeliners, accessories and all new exclusive products for beauty lovers this Christmas. It’s got you covered for all your festive party invites, as well as New Year and beyond.
The packaging is a rose gold cardboard design which reminds me a lot of Christmas wrapping paper. The calendar opens out like a book, which is handy to know before trying to open it flat and sending half the contents flying. Perhaps playing cosmetic box Tetris was all part of the festive fun? Regardless, for the price, you really can’t complain - it’s not the height of luxury, but it’s a fun and affordable creation that can inject some glam into your Christmas countdown.
The 25 boxes all very in size, with number 25 being the biggest and therefore the most exciting. From what I can tell, the most expensive products in the calendar are valued at around £5, while others are between £1 and £4. It may not sound much, but let me tell you - their lip liners are better than some I’ve spent £20 on.

Inside the boxes, some of the products are wrapped in a layer of tissue paper, which makes it feel even more like a gift. Each time I unboxed a new day, I got a flutter of excitement at finding out what was behind the door. It’s far better than any chocolate calendar I’ve ever had, anyway.

The Revolution You Are The Revolution 25 Day Advent Calendar 2022 is a fantastic beauty advent calendar for those who want in on the trend without spending a fortune. From what I’ve already unboxed, all of the products seem pretty universal for all skin tones, and therefore would make the ideal gift for your loved ones, or a treat for yourself.
Priced currently at £35 , it makes every product inside just £1.40, which is even cheaper than brands like Natural Collection and 17, but with quality that has seen the brand compared to the likes of Charlotte Tilbury.
