Whether you’re a runner, barre obsessed or are just after some flattering activewear to throw on whilst working from home, there are few places with a better selection on offer than Lululemon.
To add to their already impressive selection, earlier this year, the sportswear favourite ventured into the world of footwear - and there’s a new pair on the block which we're pretty obsessed with.
Strongfeel is the third release to come out of Lululemnon’s line of women’s athletic shoes, which started with Blissfeel and continued with Chargefeel.
While most athletic shoes are designed for a man's foot, and then altered for women, Lululemon's footwear is specifically designed for women to provide the perfect support and fit.
The first two designs were made with running and cross-training in mind, whereas Strongfeel is designed for strength-training workouts, made with stability in mind thanks to the flat sole which is meant to act as a "stable, powerful platform" by providing "low-profile cushioning and multi-directional traction."
Although they cost a pretty penny, retailing for £118, investing in a great pair of gym shoes like these ones will not only improve your performance whilst exercising, but they’ll support your feet too, meaning there’s less chance of causing an injury whilst lifting those weights.
Not only are they extremely practical, but they’re stylish too, so you can wear them to the gym, or out for brunch with your friends. Plus, they come in six colourways including white, black, purple, tea rose, lemon sorbet and vapor to suit your style.
Lululemon Strongfeel review:
As an avid gym goer, it’s safe to say I’ve gone through my fair share of trainers - so I know a good pair when I see one! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair of these beauties, and what I stepped into was pure bliss.
I'm usually between sizes four and five in trainers, so I opted for a US 6 (which is a UK 4.5), and they were a perfect fit - not too tight or narrow which I was afraid of, seeing as they’re specifically designed for women’s feet. To pick up, they're extremely lightweight, so you don't have to worry about lugging them around in your bag all day after your morning gym session.
Now onto performance...with my trusty dumbbells and weights, I put together a 30-minute strength-training workout at home, which included moves like lunges, overhead presses and squats, to really put these trainers to the test.
Thanks to the flat sole and multi-directional traction, the shoes felt extremely stable and supportive, specifically when focusing on lower-body moves like lunges and squats. The low-profile cushioning and lightweight design also helped stop cramping in my feet, which I often find with other trainers when strength-training.
What I love about these trainers is that they are super stylish too, boasting a minimal and sleek design, so you can wear them to the gym, or out for lunch with your friends. There are six different colourways to get your hands on too! I went for the White/Light Vapor/White option, which went perfectly with my workout attire.
As Lululemon suggests, the Strongfeel trainers are specifically designed for strength-training, so if you're more into high-intensity hit training which involves a lot of running and jumping, the Chargefeel may be a better choice for you.
