It's a hidden gem but a jewel in the crown of Nottingham's food scene. BOHNS Best Burgers in Broad Street, which can be found in a basement bar underneath BrewDog, recently scooped the award for Food Awards England best burger bar.
It's set tongues wagging since it started out as a street food trader in 2017, and has gone from strength to strength since. And, I can't quite believe it either, but I've been sent out to try out one of the bestsellers.

Walking down the dimly lit steps to one of Nottingham's worst-kept secrets only adds to the anticipation of what I'm about to order. I enter the restaurant underneath BrewDog and am hit with music playing, indie seeming to be the order of the day.
There are pockets of people in on a Tuesday lunchtime, with a large table of 10 or so, a man drinking a pint on his own, and couples making up the handful of tables taken. I am greeted with friendly service with a smile, and am handed a menu to have a peruse, but I already know what I'm going for.
A colleague of mine has already tried out The Rump, so I opt for another one of its bestsellers - The Blue. It has a double smash beef patty topped with stilton blue cheese, American cheese, BOHNS chorizo ketchup and BOHNS house mayo. I know, right?
I'm taking it away (as it is for lunch) and am charged £11.45. My immediate thought is that this is steep for a burger, but for an establishment with such a high reputation, let's see how it goes...
I'm told the burger will be ready in 10 minutes. In the meantime, I sit at the bar and take in my surroundings.
There are a number of vinyl records hung on the walls, which brings a smile to a collector such as myself. There are great choices of beers in a fridge just around the corner - no wonder, having BrewDog right above it.
My eyes turn to the bar itself, where there are countless options of spirits and liqueurs waiting for their chance to be used. While there aren't many, there is a strong selection of the beers that are on tap, and even a coffee machine if that's what you want to go for.
While I'm waiting, on such a nice and sunny day, I can't help but feel how well a cold beer would go down right now... But this is a lunch break, so I'd better not.
That's only made all the more tempting though by one of the barmen preparing a cocktail. At just after 1pm in the afternoon. Why not if you can?
My thoughts then shift to imaging the place being packed out at night, which I invariably can with cocktails and music playing. The barman cuts that thought whistling along to Manic Street Preachers.
Sure enough, the burger arrives 10 minutes later, and I am handed a brown paper bag with the goods inside. I hurry back to the office to enjoy the burger, thinking about how much I cannot wait to get my teeth stuck into it.
I get it back, and a box has been wrapped up in foil to keep it warm. And my first impression - is that it's huge.
It stacks up really well, and it already looks messy, with blue stilton cheese oozing from the burger. But that is something I could not care less about right now, if anything it adds to my excitement.
I sink my teeth into it, and my word... My first impression is that the blue cheese is unbelievable, and the burgers are so tender, they melt in the mouth and there is not a hint of chewiness at all.
The onion propping up at the base of the burger is gorgeous, being a massive fan of the cheese and onion combination. A pet hate of mine is when the bun is soggy from all the sauces and it disintegrates, but it holds up well.
The gherkins are superb as well. This really is all of my favourite things brought together in a delectable bun.
A bite of everything together is nothing short of palette perfection. I'm approaching the end, and I can't think of anything worse than it finishing.
But alas, the final bite ensues, and all I can do next is sit back, thinking about just how good that was. I scoop up all of the onions that have fallen out as, for me, there is nothing worse than seeing food go to waste.
I feel full as well from the burger alone. I already cannot wait to go back and try out a different burger, working through the menu, along with some fries and a milkshake, which I'm reliably told by colleagues is not to be missed.
I can safely say that was the tastiest burger I have ever had, it was worth every penny and calorie. It's gone straight in at number one, and I cannot wait to go back.
I'm not sure my waistline will thank me for the frequent visits that will undoubtedly follow... But we'll worry about that later.
