I tried the apertif El Bandarra as seen on Sunday Lunch and it's delicious

Nothing says summer like a Spritz in the garden, for me I've always found the classic Aperol to be a little on the bitter side so when I saw El Bandarra on Sunday Brunch it seemed like a pretty good alternative.

El Bandarra describes itself as 'the apertivo from Barcelona' and with vanilla notes it's certainly more my style.

I tried out the ' Minibar ' which features four 100ml bottles of the many flavours available. The one featured on Sunday Brunch was El Bandarra Rosé, the lightest Bandarra, it has notes of lollipop, vanilla and red fruit which makes for a deliciously fruity drink.

You can enjoy it as seen on TV with watermelon, cucumber and tonic or simply over ice with a slice of orange.

When I tried it I was instantly hit with the red fruit notes, with it not being overly sweet but there definitely being a little something for those with a sweet tooth out there.

It's not the only one on the market though, there's truly something for all Spritz lovers. You can opt for the classic Rojo, which has more botanical notes like cinnamon and clove - I think this is perfect for those who love a deep flavour.

If you're particularly into sweet and sugary drinks then I would advise the Blanco model, it's the sweetest of the range with a vanilla touch. I think the Blanco is probably my favourite of the entire range.

There's also the Al Fresco which is made with tonic in mind, there's a citrus note to it and the brand advises that you drink it with tonic and a slice of orange.

I would recommend picking up the Minibar to get a taste of the full range before diving in with a full bottle, but these are certainly one to keep your eyes on this summer.
