REFY is a brand that has taken the social media world by storm particularly for its brow products.
Created by model and influencer Jess Hunt, the beauty brand aims to 'encourage everyone to be confident' offering 'versatile products' that have been designed to compliment all skin types and tones. I've been a huge fan of the REFY brow collection which has thousands of rave reviews, but how good are the lip products?
The on-trend 'glowy' and 'clean' makeup look is all the rage at the moment, and this brand definitely provides just that. The £28 lip collection features a 'lip sculpt' and a 'lip gloss' with up to six neutral shades available.
The 'lip sculpt' (also known as lip liner) is said to provide a creamy and blendable look with a setter tool designed to keep the colour in place for up to 10 hours. According to the product description on its website, the setter provides a 'hydrating, matte and smudge-proof finish'.
Of course, a lip look wouldn't be complete without some gloss. I've recently jumped on the lip gloss hype and absolutely love the Revolution lip oils so I was intrigued to see how good this gloss was.
The Lip Collection
If I'm being totally honest, I've never properly used a lip liner before. I've definitely experimented with it in my younger days when attempting a bold red lip but I don't usually wear it on a regular basis purely down to laziness.
I've always found lip liners chalky, sticky and drying, but the REFY 'lip sculpt ' was far from this. It went on my lips like butter, and was so easy to blend into my lips.
It didn't smudge at all, and there was a lot of room for error when applying the product. If I was a bit wonky when applying, the lip sculpt was easily fixable and still looked flawless.
One thing I will say is not to roll up the lip sculpt too far because it did feel a little flimsy. I only say this as someone who often snaps eyebrow pencils and eyeliners due to carelessness.
The packaging was simple and minimalistic, yet still glam. I absolutely adored the lip gloss packaging with the metallic applicator that helped the lip gloss glide onto the lips easily.
Sometimes lip gloss can feel sticky and unpleasant, especially with a doe foot applicator, but this felt like a bit more of a 'premium' lip gloss that was so easy to apply.
This whole lip collection stayed put - let me tell you! It lasted a whole day of working from home which involved lots of coffees and lunches. I was so impressed with the no smudge feature, as someone that fidgets a lot when concentrating it really didn't budge at all.
The verdict
As a whole I was mega impressed with the REFY Lip Collection. Although £28 seems a little steep, I do think the quality is worth it for the special features you just can't get with other lip products.
I would've liked the packaging to feel a little more expensive and less plasticky for the lip liner, but I really liked the gloss packaging. I'd definitely purchase this product again and I'm really excited to try some of the other shades.
It's also important to make sure your lips are nice and hydrated before application, because I made the mistake of applying mine first with slightly dry, cracked lips and you could definitely tell the difference.
I've officially been converted to a lip liner lover and I'm wondering where it's been all my life. Find out more or purchase the £28 REFY Lip Collection here.
