Easter is just around the corner which can only mean one thing - everyone will be living off Easter eggs for the foreseeable. While it's extremely generous to give and receive the chocolate treats, by the end of April many people don’t know what to do with the hoard they have left over.
However, there is a new alternative to the traditional Easter egg which has a boozy twist. If you’re feeling boujee this Easter, the indulgent Egg Royale Chocolate Cream Liqueur is an egg like no other.
The ‘industry first’ alcoholic Easter egg, developed over the course of two years by Gravity Drinks, features a decadent and rich alcoholic chocolate cream liqueur incorporating the finest cocoa and vanilla, blended with cream, and packaged within a beautiful 70cl glass egg.

The packaging is unbelievably stunning as the creamy liqueur is filled in a glass egg encased within an art-deco style box, and features a foil printed handle.
I can confirm it tastes as good as it looks. As soon as I opened the cap, I could smell just how creamy and chocolatey it was before even pouring it into the glass.
The Bottle Club describe the beverage as “a unique blend of extracts from cocoa beans from around the world to bring out the finest in flavour and aroma available."
It adds: “It has all the decadence you could ever want – smooth enough to luxuriate your senses, sweet enough to tantalize but never too much. The creamy texture glides over your tongue while satisfying your craving for something special.”
The product was also featured and reviewed by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ITV's This Morning, with both presenters commenting on the chocolate liqueur's tastiness, and complimenting the stunningly beautiful packaging and design.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this luxurious booze filled egg as an alternative gift to give this Easter. The Egg Royale can be purchased on The Bottle Club website here for £23.49. It's also currently £19.39 at Costco, and £29 at Harvey Nichols.
Similarly, if you're looking for a cheaper boozy egg, Tequila Rose has partnered with Chorlton’s The Cocoa Tree to create some of the most beautiful creme eggs for the ultimate grown up treat this Spring, which will set you back £16.50.
The limited edition strawberry liqueur creme eggs come in a little pink egg carton that contains six stunning black and pink painted eggs in The Cocoa Tree’s signature style.
Each egg is filled with a rich fondant and smooth Tequila Rose ganache and has been beautifully hand-decorated by a team of skilled artisans in the striking Tequila Rose pink and black signature colours.
Other than that, if you're looking to get something that isn't quite an Easter egg but isn't filled with alcohol, people have been going mad for M&S' new Fried Egg Choc Corn, which looks perfect for anyone with a sweet and savoury tooth.
As Easter treats come, it's also pretty affordable as it's currently priced at £5 in M&S stores.
The quirky chocolate slab is made from sweet and salted toffee popcorn that is smothered in white chocolate and topped with a salted caramel filled 'yolk'.
