Us Brits can be a funny bunch when it comes to sandwiches.
With so many choices of filling, let alone what bread it goes on, the options are endless and most people have a favourite.
My go-to butty is generally cheese and ham, usually because I have no fresh salad in to go with it - well that's my excuse anyway.
So when on the odd occasion I do grab a sandwich to go, I like to pick something a bit more adventurous.

According to Tesco, the nation's favourite sandwich is the all-day breakfast and the supermarket's Sausage, Bacon & Egg Triple Sandwich has been its best-selling sandwich for the past three years, with more than a million sold on average each month.
I've bought a fair few of those in the past, along with the other favourites, including Triple Chicken, and Cheese & Onion.
But now the retailer has souped-up its butty selection by introducing five new limited edition sandwiches.
They're all pretty different - two of them subs, two wraps and one on tomato bread.
To coincide with British Sandwich Week, which ends on May 28, I decided to give three of them a try.
Being a big fan of barbecue, I went for the Fire Pit Smoky BBQ Chicken Sub first - chicken breast and sweetcorn in barbecue sauce with Red Leicester cheese and pickled red onion in a maize topped white sub roll.
While not particularly strong on the barbecue front, it was still pretty tasty and certainly more filling than sandwiches I've had elsewhere.
Next up was the Chicken Shawarma Wrap - tender chicken breast in a spiced Middle Eastern inspired Shawarma dressing with cucumber, spinach and hot pepperoncini in a tomato tortilla wrap.
It's not something I'd usually go for - anything described as 'hot' is enough to put me off - but it was actually really nice and the cucumber with yogurt and mayonnaise based dressing managed to calm any spice from the peppers.
But the final one I sampled was by far the best.
It was the Pulled Beef and Burger Slaw Sub - beef brisket in barbecue sauce with a cabbage, sweetcorn, carrot and gherkin slaw dressed in a gherkin, mustard and dill sauce in a white sub roll.
Now I WAS getting the true barbecue flavour I crave, with the most succulent pulled beef. I don't even like gherkins but this gherkin slaw along with the sauce is the perfect accompaniment.
It sounds bizarre, but it's the closest you'll get to a tasty burger without actually having to cook anything - and yes I appreciate it's cold, but you've got to try it to understand.
I'd happily eat this every day if I could - especially when there's a wide choice of drinks and snacks to go with it for £3.90 - or even better £3.40 with a Clubcard.
The bad news is these limited edition ones are only around for the summer. I reckon that's a fair few I can fit in between now and September. You can find them in stores and online if you fancy one yourself.
