I tried Roborock’s new wet floor cleaner and it does one thing that Dyson doesn't

If you have mainly hard floors in your home, it can be a constant challenge to keep them clean and spotless from daily foot traffic. Which is why a powerful wet floor cleaner can really make all the difference to the arduous chore of regular mopping

Since I test some of the best vacuum cleaners for a living, I’ve put a bunch of wet floor cleaners to work on my hard wood, but have always gone back to my Dyson WashG1 to get the job done well. That was, until I tried the Roborock F25 Ultra, which does one useful thing that Dyson doesn’t.

What’s more, it’s packed with game-changing features such as its use of hot water, stream and self-drying that make it a more multi-functional cleaner. And, it even works with an app (which Dyson also doesn’t have). Even better, the Roborock F25 Ultra offers all this for around the same price as a Dyson, making it a better value.

Here are three reasons why I ditched my Dyson for this impressive option.

It has an awesome steam option

Perhaps the most exciting feature (for me) is that it comes with a steam option that most wet floor cleaners rarely offer. The company claims that it can create steam at temperatures up to 356 ℉; while it didn't feel that hot to me, it was able to lift dried messes. A one-touch button on the handle let me activate the steam function, and if you’re not sure where it is, there’s even handy voice guidance.

Admittedly, I’ve never been a fan of regular steam mops. Not only did I find it tricky to control the steam output, but to my horror, it damaged my laminate floor, leaving it warped over long-term use. While I had sworn off such mops for good, I was glad that Roborock’s steam option was safe to use on my flooring (although always check with your flooring manufacturer before use).

If you don’t want to risk using steam on certain flooring, however, you can also opt for the hot water setting, which is good for tackling greasy or sticky spills.

Blue light illumination

I’m a sucker for dirt light detection, and there's nothing more satisfying than seeing all the hidden dirt in awkward spots. And while this is often a standard attachment for many cordless vacuum cleaners, such as the Dyson Gen5Detect for instance, you won’t get this feature on wet floor cleaners.

The F25 Ultra comes with an impressive blue light detection in the floorhead to instantly reveal dust, crumbs, and fine particles on darker surfaces. Since my bathroom tiles are black, I was able to see hidden dust particles to ensure a thorough clean and never miss a spot.

It can lie flat to get under furniture

Another favorite feature is its 180° ‘lay-flat’ design, which allows you to retract the vacuum to literally lie flat on surfaces. Again, its something that the Dyson model can't do, making it challenging to clean awkward spaces.

The lay-flat design makes it easy to really get underneath my low-rise sofa, chairs, cabinets or beds without having to bend or kneel. What’s more, there was no bulky floor head getting in the way or knocking against my furniture.

In addition, it comes with AI-enhanced assisted wheels that help you steer and easily maneuver around corners or tight spaces. Overall, the F25 Ultra made my cleaning tasks hassle-free and super convenient.

Of course, if you want to keep things simple with Dyson, then the WashG1 will certainly do the job. However, if you’re looking to get more out of your wet floor cleaner or need a steam option, I'd say the Roborock F25 Ultra is worth the money.
