Aldi has launched a limited edition 'Flowers and Fruit' candle range that is a dupe for the luxurious £56 Diptyque candles, and I managed to get my hands on one.
I love the Parisian brand Diptyque, but let's be honest, the candles can be very expensive. One single candle can set you back £35-£56 depending on what size you get, so it really is a treat when you get one.
Thankfully for our bank balances, Aldi has launched a much cheaper alternative for £3 that's available in three scents including Blackberry Mint, Orange Blossom and Peony Rose. I took a trip to my local Aldi and found the dupe, but even a week after its release (June 22) there were very few left.

The only scent I could find at my local Aldi was the 'Blackberry Mint' which I was actually really glad about. Other scent product descriptions include:
Blackberry Mint - "The sweet and juicy scent of ripe blackberries combines with the cool and invigorating aroma of fresh mint, creating a delightful fragrance that awakens your senses."
Orange Blossom - "Be transported to a fragrant oasis with the aroma of freshly bloomed orange blossoms. A sweet, floral scent, these candles offer a delicate and subtly fragrance to uplift any room."
Peony Rose - "Experience the delicate beauty of peonies and roses with this signature scent. A soft, romantic fragrance of peonies that combines with the classic elegance of roses to create a truly enchanting scent."
The look
As far as aesthetics go, the candles definitely look very similar to the luxury Diptyque brand. The floral design and font give the candle a nice summery vibe, and although its not totally identical to Diptyque candles, the similarities were very obvious.
On the label, the candle has the same circular branding as Diptyque that gives it a generally classy feel. In terms of sizing, the candle is a decent size, and for the price it's even better.
The scent
As soon as I smelt the candle it instantly reminded me of another well known luxury brand - Jo Malone. The scent reminded me of the iconic 'Blackberry & Bay' scent, and I couldn't really smell much mint at all.
However, as a whole, the candle scent was super strong, and for £3 that's pretty impressive to say the least. I lit the candle in my living room and not only did it look gorgeous, but it smelt amazing too.
For a small candle, the Aldi Diptyque dupe certainly packed a punch. The scent lasted for a good while even after a blew the candle out.
The verdict
To be honest, this is probably one of the nicest candles I currently own. It smells absolutely amazing and is really refreshing, especially for the summer time.
My only criticism would be that you can't really smell the mint. However, that doesn't mean that it's not worth purchasing, and for £3, what's not to love?
