I tried a caffeine free chocolatey tea to boost my energy levels and the results were surprising

I am prone to napping. At lunch time, of an evening, in the mornings that I don't work. I love a good nap to keep my energy levels up although sometimes a busy schedule means I just simply don't have the time.

Coffee is often the obvious choice to perk up but I know I'm not the only one to not be the biggest fan of the classic coffee jitters that happen after a few too many cups.

When I found Anatomē I decided to give their Energy + Strength range a go. I love tea and have quite the candle collection so it felt like an obvious choice.

First I tried the Energy + Strength Loose Tea Blend, I've always been fond of tea with me regularly reaching for my favourite blends and matcha lattes being my go to when out and about. So when I saw this was a rooibos blend with cacao I was quite optimistic.

I like that it's a caffeine free tea as I typically opt to go completely decaf once a month and this means I would still be able to get my energy boost. It's a really simple ingredient list consisting of just: Rooibos, Cacao Beans, Hibiscus Blossoms, Lemongrass.

It has a mild chocolatey flavour but it's not sweet, although sugar or honey are easily added for those with a sweet tooth. One thing that surprised me is how energised I was while drinking it. At the time I tried this I hadn't been drinking caffeine for around a week and had been really sleepy.

The tin, and refill bags, have 120g of tea which can make quite a considerable amount. It's loose leaf which I think makes it perfect for a teapot but with a tea strainer it can also be used to make individual cups. I'm quite fond of it and will definitely be reaching for it in future.

The candle was not quite what I expected, it has quite an earthy aroma that I found to be quite distracting. The lemon, grapefruit and citrus notes definitely come through but the woody undertones definitely linger making it smell almost like it's being hidden underneath.

That being said I did feel incredibly energised while it was burning. I'm not sure how much of that can be attributed to the candle itself, with me personally believing that it was more a result of the tea, but it was a nice touch. I think I'll probably stick to sweeter scents with my current favourite candles being Asda's Blueberry Cream range and Habitat's Coconut Water + Amber range.

There's a wide range of candles available with them each coming with a number of different qualities, they all detail the scents so you can check in advance if they suit your tastes.
