I like to keep up to date on beauty trends as much as possible, and since seeing a huge fascination in quartz rollers, I thought I'd give one a try.
The supposed benefits of a quartz roller include diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, boosting blood circulation, and brightening the skin tone by increasing lymphatic drainage. I was very dubious that a small roller for £10 could have all of these benefits, so I decided to try mine out for a week, twice a day.
This particular Aldi Vibrating Rose Quartz Roller was down from £14.99 to £9.99 and is designed to 'promote a healthy glow'. The kit comes with one facial roller, one under eye press, one T-head bar, one textured face roller and one 3D roller face massager.

The full product description on the Aldi website reads: "Upgrade your skincare routine with the Lacura Vibrating Rose Quartz Roller. This face roller utilises sonic vibrations to soothe, relax and promote a healthy glow to your skin. This set includes a under-eye press, t-head bar, textured facial roller and a 3D roller face massager. Implement this beauty gadget to your daily routine to help rejuvenate your skin."
Considering I wear a fair amount of makeup daily, I'd say my skincare routine is currently fairly basic. I don't have any fancy gadgets like this, and just stick with a good old cleanse, tone and moisturise technique.
As I unboxed the Aldi Quartz Roller, I was actually very surprised about how it looked. This roller definitely looked more expensive than £9.99, but did it work?
The Aldi Quartz Roller
I ended up putting the head of my Quartz Roller in the fridge, as advised by Aldi's Lacura, to give my skincare routine a cooling new addition. As I've currently run out of serum, I spread some mosturiser evenly onto my face and turned on the product.
The roller had a good weight to it making it feel premium, and the vibrations on the roller were very strong. Since I'd never actually used a roller before, I took the advice from the Lacura instruction manual on where to glide it across my face.
Aldi advised one to two drops of serum or moisturiser onto each area of the face, and then to focus on key areas such as cheeks, cheekbones, jawline, neck, upper lip, forehead and eye. As soon as I placed the roller onto my face, I was amazed at the sheer power it kicked out.
This thing packed a serious punch considering it was just £9.99, and actually made my sensitive skin look quite red in some places because it was so strong. The first time I used this product I could tell that my skin wasn't used to it, but after adding it to my routine morning and night with my favourite moisturiser, I slowly but surely started to see results.
The skin on the key points of my face not only appeared brighter, but tighter too. It was almost like I'd toned up the skin on my face, which was something I didn't really think was possible.
I wouldn't say that the results were absolutely groundbreaking, but they were definitely noticeable, which can be pretty rare with overhyped beauty products these days The cooling sensation of the roller was really relaxing, and it actually felt like it was doing something to my face.
