A dog owner claims her two-year-old pooch named Teddy needed a £200 leg surgery following an injury he got from a groomers. Nadine Quigley is now calling for strict regulations for pet groomers following the incident.
The youth worker and counsellor took her Bischon Frise Maltese mix to a new groomers because her regular place was fully booked. She says what should have been a simple trim resulted in a sustained laceration on Teddy's leg, which required surgery to repair.
"I asked for a simple trim to keep on top of his curls and told the groomer that she didn't need to style him or anything. Just a trim to keep him comfortable and tat-free until I could get an appointment with his regular groomer. She said it would be £15 and I left him with her in what looked like a very nice establishment," she told Belfast Live.
