'I took a trip to Lidl's middle aisle and found five kitchen products for under £40'

Shopping in Lidl's famous 'middle aisle' section has become somewhat of a favourite past-time for many of us.

Will you walk out with a new kettle? A new ironing board? You never really know until you get there.

The supermarket's aptly titled 'Middle of Lidl' has gained itself a cult following thanks to its range of eclectic products that you didn't need until... well, you did.

One minute you'll be picking up your groceries, and the next you're browsing those iconic aisles without ever realising it.

By the time you leave, you're guaranteed to have bought something that wasn't on your grocery list.

What makes the aisles even more wonderful is that most of the product ranges change twice a week. Every Sunday and Thursday brings about new products and offers for you to explore.

It also leads to stock selling out incredibly fast, meaning you just have to buy that sausage roll maker when you see it. Or that's what I told myself when I found myself in those aisles once again.

Shopping Writer Rachel Williams found kitchen essentials in this weeks Middle of Lidl (Rachel Williams)

At this point, I am sure you are all aware how much I love taking a trip down the supermarket's Aladdin's cave of unique items and regularly find some amazing bargains.

Last time I popped into store I managed to find some brilliant garden purchases that would be perfect for getting your outdoor space summer ready.

And, because I am such a fan of the Middle of Lidl, I decided to pop back in once again just to see what was currently on offer as part of this week's range of products.

On Thursday, June 16, the budget supermarket's middle aisles were stocking a range of kitchen essentials for everyone who loves spending time cooking.

From countertop gadgets to chopping boards, the latest range of middle aisle products are perfect for anyone needing to pick up great quality kitchenware for less.

Of course, you can have a look at what is currently on offer online, but I have decided to do some digging to bring, what I believe, are the top five highlights.

So, without further ado, here were my top five highlights from Lidl's selection of middle aisle products from Thursday, June 16.
