I Thought All Easter Decor Was Kitschy Until I Saw McGee & Co.’s New Collection – It’s Proof That Festive Decorating Can Be Themed and Still Look Chic

Three images of Easter decor from McGee & Co.

When it comes to holiday decorating, there's a fine line between chic and cliché. Especially with a holiday like Easter – characterized by pastels, painted eggs, and leaping rabbits – it's hard to decorate your home in a way that feels seasonally relevant and stylish at the same time. Lucky for us, interior design expert Shea McGee has masterfully found the balance.

With her new Easter collection at McGee & Co, Shea has proven to us skeptics that decorating for Easter doesn't have to look overly juvenile or even kitsch. Instead, it can be elevated, tasteful, and truly timeless.

With their pastel blue color and their soft white decoration, the Meadowlark Platter and the Meadowlark Dessert Plate from Shea McGee's Easter collection are perfect for Easter dinner, but I'd be just as happy using them for any springtime dinner party. (Image credit: McGee & Co.)

Shea's assortment of Easter decor taps into the holiday's main themes, but in a refined, sophisticated manner. Take the bunny rabbits, for instance – the icons of Easter decor. You'll find them hopping all throughout this collection, but never once do they feel too playful or childish. Like the painted rabbit on the Floral Pitcher or rabbit shaped Candy Dish, these rabbit forms lean more whimsical and charming than childlike. Even the Hand-Painted Easter Eggs (holiday must-haves), don't feel kitsch. Paired with their Rustic Egg Holders, these eggs can act as a delightful spring mantel decor idea.

Underscored with a soft and subtle pastel green and blue color scheme, this Easter collection from McGee & Co. utilizes some of the top spring colors that can make your home feel fresher this year, too.

Of course, this collection is Easter-specific, but what I like most about it is that it reflects the holiday in a very elegant and elevated way. Plus, it's so stylish that you might even consider leaving these pieces out well past April 5th. Okay, maybe the Holland Lop Pillow Cover and the Petite Ceramic Bunnies can go into storage until next year. But other pieces like the Meadowlark Hand-Painted Serving Platter, the Ruffled Edge Vase, and even the Faux Herbiflora Wreath don't scream Easter. While they feel appropriate for the holiday, they're not overly themed. These pieces are stylish enough that I'd be happy to keep on display late into the spring and even throughout the summer.

Filled with spring decor ideas that transcend the confines of the Easter season, Shea McGee's Easter collection at McGee & Co. is one that proves that holiday decorating doesn't need to be cliché. Sure, it can have its kitschy elements, but it can make your home look as elevated as ever, too. Shop my favorite pieces from Shea's tasteful and timeless Easter collection, below.

Easter is just about a month away, so if you're planning on hosting for the holiday, that gives you plenty of time to spruce up your interiors for company. But don't forget the outside spaces, too. Shea just dropped her 2026 outdoor collection at McGee & Co., so if it's warm enough to take the party outside, now you can do so in style.
