I tested a £7.50 dupe of Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter and preferred it

Charlotte Tilbury is known for being a luxury brand but it is definitely on the pricey side.

Currently, everybody wants to get their hands on the ‘Hollywood Flawless Filter’ glow booster priced at £34.

The award-winning product which has gone viral on TikTok is said to smooth, blur, illuminate and give your skin a 'magical' glow.

There are plenty of dupes for Charlotte Tilbury products, but the one that caught my eye was the Revolution Skin Glow Tinted Booster Blaze.

So, I thought I’d give this Revolution £7.50 dupe a try, to see if it’s anything like the Hollywood Flawless Filter for a fraction of the price.

The look

When you look at both products side by side without the packaging, they both look pretty similar.

Both in glass containers with a golden lid, the products give off an ‘expensive’ feel, despite the Revolution product being four times cheaper.

I’m a sucker for packaging, and Charlotte Tilbury definitely knows how to impress, so it wins this round.

I own a couple of her products and they all look absolutely beautiful, with pretty rose gold lids and a luxurious feel.

But, if we’ve basing this entirely off price, the Revolution dupe looks pretty great too, for less than £8.

The application

Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter

If I’m being completely honest, when applying Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter , I wasn’t blown away instantly.

It felt nice on the face and had a pleasant scent, but it only gave off a tiny glow before applying my foundation.

Now, this could be because I applied it before my foundation instead of after, which is what’s recommended, but I guess it depends on preference.

After I applied my foundation, I could see the beautiful glow it created, and it did look really nice. For those who like a dewy complexion instead of matte, this product is definitely a good one to have.

Revolution Skin Glow Tinted Booster Blaze

Now it was time to try the Revolution dupe , and this one had a pump applicator instead of a doe foot applicator.

As I popped off the lid, the pump fell off, which wasn’t a great start! But it was easy to pop back on.

I applied the product onto my face before foundation and it felt thicker than the Charlotte Tilbury, almost like foundation.

The Revolution dupe is perfect for a bronzed look (Emily Sleight/ Liverpool ECHO)

It definitely had a more ‘bronzey’ glow to it as opposed to the Charlotte Tilbury, which I preferred.

I was pleasantly surprised with the finish this product gave me, purely because of the price.

The finished look

Both products gave off a very similar look which I was really impressed with.

The glow was subtle yet still noticeable in certain light, and I think that’s what I really liked about these products.

A little goes a long way with both, and they leave your skin feeling dewy and radiant!

My verdict

As much as I adore Charlotte Tilbury products, I was really impressed with the Revolution dupe.

For those who prefer a more bronzey look, I’d definitely recommend Revolution over Charlotte Tilbury.

If you prefer a subtle more natural glow, Charlotte Tilbury is the brand for you.

I was really surprised at how good this dupe was, and will continue to use it as part of my everyday makeup routine when I want that bronzed appearance.
