I was always a fat kid. The first time I realised I was chubby, I was seven. This was probably the result of being raised on a diet of fish fingers and turkey Twizzlers. Eat the beige rainbow. I was also very lazy — I loved sitting in front of the TV and not doing anything, every single day. The perfect storm.
But then I started to fluctuate. When I turned 18, I got really into fitness and became dead skinny for a couple of years. My whole adult life has been this constant dance between skinny and chubby. Sometimes it's the result of healthy decisions, like getting back into the gym, and sometimes it’s the result of unhealthy ones, like a toxic relationship. I’ve recently settled into the first proper long-term relationship of my adult life, and the love chub has come with it.
