SYDNEY: India's out of form Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma has cleared the air on the decision to miss the fifth Test against Australia, insisting that he took the call on his own, in the team’s interest, and he has not called time on his Test career.
“This is not a retirement decision, nor am I stepping aside from the game. I stood down from this Test because the bat isn’t talking. There’s no guarantee I won’t get the runs two or five months later. We’ve seen it a lot in cricket. I believe things will change. At the same time, I’ve to be realistic as well,” Rohit told Star Sports in an interview on Saturday.
