I shopped Aldi’s Bank Holiday Specialbuys and these were the best middle aisle finds

The middle aisle of Aldi is an absolute treasure trove of beauty, home, lifestyle and garden products. And no matter how hard you try to just pop in for milk and bread, the Specialbuys aisle is like a siren luring you in to the gadgets and gizmos galore.

It feels like every time I visit my local Aldi branch, which is now dangerously only a 15 minute walk away, there’s something new filling the baskets - from must-have beauty dupes to Marvel toys and mud kitchens.

New Specialbuys arrive in store and online every Thursday and Sunday, which constantly keeps stock fresh and shoppers desperate to see what they need to find space in their home for next.

Some of this week's new releases include a £199 dual fuel barbecue and wicker effect bistro set, but both are only available online, while previous Specialbuys have proven so popular they’re already sold out, like these perfume dupes.

Here are some of the top middle aisle picks I found when I shopped Aldi Specialbuys this Bank Holiday.

Facial Steamer

A £12.99 facial steamer allows shoppers to treat themselves to an at-home spa treatment without salon prices. The device comes in pink or grey, and helps to open up pores and remove dirt to prevent blemishes.

The steamer comes with a measuring cup, aromatherapy cover and steam inhaler attachments and a large facial mask and nose mask.

And while some shoppers have praised it for being a relaxing home beauty product, others have found it useful for when they’re feeling poorly, too.

One customer said: “Bought this due to having chronic sinus problems. It is brilliant and less than a third the price of the well- known branded one I thought I would have to buy. Haven't used the full facial mask but this does everything I need and with a 3-year guarantee, what's not to like? Very happy!”

Another added: “I bought this due to being unwell and used it to help unblock my nasal passage. Very effective for me. A small and effective little appliance.”

You can buy the Visage facial steeper here.

Pizza Oven

If you're throwing a garden party for the Queen’s Jubilee or just plan on a summer of barbecues, this Gardenline Barbeque Pizza Oven is perfect for family gatherings to cook up everyone’s favourite.

The barbecue pizza oven can be used on gas and charcoal barbeques to cook authentic style pizzas to serve up alongside your burgers and hotdogs.

One shopper said: “Oh my this BBQ pizza oven is a game changer! Homemade pizza from scratch cooked in this BBQ pizza oven tastes so authentic, stone baked like the ones you get in Prezzo.”

The oven is just £39.99 , which is cheaper than the actual Gardenline Pizza Oven , which is £179.99, after being reduced in the run up to summer.

XL Outdoor Rug

And if you are having people over, you’ll want your garden looking totally gorgeous - and Aldi have just the thing for it.

Their XL Outdoor Rugs are the perfect finishing touch to a patio or seating area, and come in a range of patterns including leaf and spline.

The £19.99 rug is said to be easy to clean, with more than 100 shoppers snapping one up to revamp their outdoor space.

One said: “Recently bought this for our patio. Really pleased with the product, light and easy to use.” while another added: “This is a nice size rug, good price, waterproof and easy to sweep. Looks stylish and feels nice under foot!”

The rugs pair would look fabulous with some of Aldi’s garden furniture, such as under the table of their popular corner sets.

Crepe Maker

Pancake day may have been and gone, but Aldi continues to stock their Ambiano Crepe Maker for those who want to enjoy pancakes with strawberries and cream this summer.

Priced at £17.99, the kitchen gadget is ideal for breakfast or a weekend brunch, or even just as a cheeky treat. The crepe maker features an adjustable temperature control, 30cm non-stick cooking plate and includes a wooden spreader and spatula.

More than 40 shoppers have rated it five stars , saying it makes ‘perfect pancakes every time’.

One customer said it’s fab for making other stuff too, writing: “I bought this the week before pancake day. Its a really useful thing for things other than pancakes too. I've done fried eggs, grilled cheese and parathas on it as well, they all turned out beautifully well.

“100% worth a buy, it's good not having to use a frying pan for two fried eggs, and it's easier to whip up some scotch pancakes on a Saturday!”

Workzone Folding Work Table

As Father’s Day is coming up, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the tools section of the Specialbuys aisle, and think this folding work table is ideal for parents who love a bit of DIY.

Aldi said: “ Made from FSC natural laminated wood, and with plastic clamping jaws, this table is great for at home DIY tasks. What's even better is that as it folds away, you can easily store it anywhere.”

The table is £16.99 making it a pretty affordable gift, or an inexpensive addition to your own shed, too.

Customers have loved using it for their own projects, with one writing: “Great piece of kit to enable jobs while working alone. Great value well made. Good Quality.”

Another added: “Just what my husband needed and I can have my patio table back now.”

You can shop even more of Aldi’s famous Specialbuys online here , keeping an eye out for new releases every Thursday and Sunday.
