'I shopped Aberdeen Aldi's refurbished Specialbuy aisle - here are my top five picks'

A newly refurbished Aldi store in Aberdeen officially reopened for shoppers last week - and the best news is that it has a brand new and expanded 'Aisle of Aldi' section.

Those regular shoppers among us will be quite well versed in the vast variety of eccentric products that you can find in the supermarket chain's infamous middle aisle. Collectively known as Specialbuys, Aldi's range of budget-friendly and unique products usually delight shoppers who always find themselves strolling down that Aladdin's cave of products.

And with my local store at Aberdeen's Beach Boulevard unveiling its grand reopening at the end of last week, I, of course, took the time out to visit the bigger and better store.

Ok, let's be honest here, we all know that I was really heading straight to that newly extended 'Aisle of Aldi' as soon as my feet took me through those automatic doors.

In all honesty, everything about the brand new store is a lot bigger and easier to navigate, and as soon as I found that middle aisle of oddities, I was off as soon as I could.

And the new store's extended 'Aisle of Aldi' certainly doesn't disappoint. Featuring two massive aisles that cover the full middle section of the store, every shelf is stocked full to the brim of popular products that range from homeware to kids toys.

After having a full rummage through the Specialbuy aisles, I found that Aldi currently has a range of products from some of their top-rated brands for sale, including Kirkton House, Gardenline, Hotel Collection and Ambiano.

Of course, I have done some digging to find what I believe are the best highlights from the new store's middle aisle, and it is good news for anyone who needs to pick up some last minute summer or school buys.

So, if you are looking to take advantage of the heatwave, keep yourself cool, or get the kids ready for the new school term, here are my five highlights from Aldi's Specialbuys aisle.
