I put Primark's new gym gear to the test and it shocked me

I decided to purchase a Primark gym set to see for myself how durable they are.

As we are now in double figures of how many days (86) until British summertime begins, I thought now has never been a better time to get myself back into the routine of going to the gym a few times a week.

Luckily for me, Primark has recently released some amazing gym wear. So, I decided to go for a walk down to Liverpool’s Primark and see what gym wear I could find.

There was a huge variety, ranging from plain items to brightly coloured and also patterns items. The only downside was, a lot of the items that I loved were not available in my size. Regardless, I still managed to still find a few different outfits to try on.

After trying on different sets in the changing rooms, I narrowed my selection down to one outfit consisting of gym leggings, a long sleeve gym top and a sports bra. Unfortunately, as I don’t have height on my side, there were multiple pairs of gym leggings I loved but after trying them on, they were too long.

The outfit:

I decided to purchase the £10 Performance Chevron Ribbed Leggings in dark grey as with this colour way I can also style with other gym tops and hoodies I already own. The leggings seemed so comfy when quickly trying them on.

I fell in love with the colour of the £12 Performance Ribbed Insert Half-Zip Top and knew straight away I would get so much wear out of it. Even though the leggings and top arent a matching set, I loved the two colours together.

Finally, to complete my gym outfit, I decided to buy the Performance Racerback Crop Top in grey for £6. The material looked and felt very supportive which is vital when in the gym.

The verdict:

I tested my new Primark gym wear at a gym class that involves a lot of movement so I knew this would be the perfect test. I honestly think the quality is nearly as good as top brands.

I find that sometimes my Nike gym leggings don’t sit right, but my Primark ones fit me like a glove and did not budge when I was working out. They are one of the comfiest pairs of gym leggings that I own. I will definitely be wearing this outfit even when I’m not heading to the gym as they provide so much comfort.

The material of the half-zip top is the perfect thickness to work out in. The top also has thumb holes on each sleeve which is always a bonus as they stopped my sleeves rolling up and also acted as a glove when weight lifting.

The only downfall is that I didn’t feel there was enough support in the crop top but that is my own fault as I didn’t try it on in the shop. If I had gone a size smaller, the gym set would’ve been perfect.

I will definitely be purchasing more gym wear from Primark. The full set cost me £28.
