I put a shower caddy in my kitchen — and it’s been a storage game-changer

I’ve always believed there's no such thing as too much storage (or too many things). And since my kitchen is small, I'm always searching for creative solutions to maximize the space available.

It's no surprise then that my social media algorithms are filled with clever hacks and savvy storage ideas. These are designed not only to free up precious countertop space but also to make things look neat and more organized.

I'm always eager to find creative ways to utilize items I already own around the house. That's why a recent trick I spotted online for using a shower caddy in the kitchen immediately grabbed my attention.

This simple, versatile trick has been a fantastic space-saver, and best of all, it kept me from spending more money on additional storage solutions. Win-win! Here's how I used it.

Because of my compact kitchen, I've always struggled with storage and essentially cramming items into my packed cabinets. This is especially the case for the one under the sink, which houses my cleaning and household essentials.

But once it got to the point where I literally had no capacity, I found a solution in my reliable hanging shower caddy, which usually organizes my shower gels, shampoos, and brushes.

I simply transferred it to hang inside the cabinet door to instantly create extra kitchen storage. Here I put my excess items, such as trash can liners, rubber gloves, and dish sponges, which had otherwise been in a jumbled mess.

While I found this more useful in the kitchen than the bathroom, its versatility doesn't end there. The humble shower caddy can be used throughout your home, maybe in the living room, home office, or even a shed —essentially, anywhere you want to keep items tidily concealed and out of sight.

So the next time you’re stuck for space, simply look around your bathroom for readily available, budget-friendly storage options.
