The Most-Wanted Amazon Home Deals Today
Picked by Interiors Editor, Emma Breislin, who says, "Did you know you can buy top-shelf brands like Diptyque on Amazon? And for a discounted price, no less. I hardly have to convince you why you should buy their signature Baies Candle while it's on sale — it is the brand's signature for a reason. They also stock a few other scents there, as well as their room sprays, some perfumes, body lotions, and gift sets (Christmas is coming!)."
Picked by our Advice & Gardens Editor, Faiza Saqib in our Amazon cleaning and organization tools roundup: "As well as being a chic, boho-style piece of decor, this vintage basket is a great little storage solution. Oh and not to mention, the perfect alternative to plastic storage bins. Made from hyacinth and sturdy metal wireframes underneath, this basket can carry and hold whatever you need, when you need it to. Ideal for throws, blankets, and clothes, too — this basket will look great wherever you decide to place it."
Picked by me, from our Amazon Home Decor roundup because while shopping for rugs on Amazon may seem like a futile exercise, you can actually find some of the best rugs there. For instance, a lot of the Amber Lewis x Loloi collection is available to shop on Amazon, so you can be sure you're making a safe and considered purchase. (Especially now they're on sale.) My pick would be the Denim/Spice area rug from their Georgie collection, that will instantly warm up a space and bring a well-loved old-world charm. This style has 4.3/5 stars and over 1,200 ratings, with over 50 rugs bought in the past month alone. There are also plenty of other colors and sizes to pick from. Size: 7'-6" x 9'-6"
When to Find the Best Deals On Amazon
There are alwaysAmazon homeware deals — but its major discount periods are based around Black Friday, which is due to take place on November 29th in 2024 (though deals will begin to drop any time from early November) and Amazon Prime Day, which will fall in July in 2025 if past years are anything to go by, though also look out for a March event which Amazon has held in the past couple of years. You'll also find sales events in January and around other holidays like Labor Day and Memorial Day. Ultimately, you never have to wait long for a sale on Amazon!
Are Amazon Black Friday Deals Any Good?
"The period in the runup to Black Friday (November 29th in 2024) through Cyber Monday (December 2nd in 2024) and usually for a few days to a week beyond is undoubtedly the best time to pick up the best deals at Amazon, especially on home tech, kitchen appliances and homewares," says Lindsey Davis, Livingetc's Content Director for Ecommerce.
"Amazon's Black Friday page is not yet live, but keep checking back here, or bookmark the page now because deals usually drop any time from early November, though in past years, we have seen early Amazon Black Friday deals in late October. I would also advise that if you see something you love, add it to your basket now, and check back regularly to see if the price has dropped. That will save you trying to find the product you swore you would buy, but subsequently can't find!"
Are Amazon Black Friday Sales Better Than Amazon After-Christmas Sales
"Amazon after-Christmas sales are always really good for snapping up deals on anything that's not sold out over the Black Friday period. However, I would question why you might want to wait to shop," says Lindsey Davis. "If you have the budget and the items you want are on offer in Amazon's Black Friday sale, I wouldn't wait in case stock runs out; if however, you have Christmas vouchers to spend, shopping Amazon's after-Christmas sale is a great opportunity to make your money go further."
When Is Amazon's Next Prime Day Event?
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days ran from 20th through 25th March in 2024, and from October 8th through the 9th of October, so we would expect similar events around the same time in 2025. Amazon Prime Day took place on July 16th and 17th in 2024, so again, expect similar dates for 2025.
Amazon Prime Day discounts are only available to Prime members. You can sign up on Amazon for a free 30 day trial — after that, membership costs $14.99 a month, but includes free and fast shipping, where available, and a membership to Amazon Prime Video's ad-supported tier.
What to Consider When Shopping Amazon Sales
Reviews: How many reviews does the product have? How many are positive? Read reviews and look at the images. Discount 1 and 2-star reviews based on service, rather than the quality of the product — Amazon's retailers have a pretty good reputation for solving problems and offering returns where needed, and these poor reviews often come from trigger-happy buyers who don't wait for a resolution.
Style: When you spot a design you like, click through to the Store. You'll often find products of a similar style, and you can "follow" them to keep an eye out for other designs and new additions — it's a very useful shortcut for finding the most design-forward styles.
Materials: At Livingetc, we like the look for less, but not at the expense of quality. Look for solid materials, whether that's wood or stone, rather than laminated replicas. In textiles, too, fabric listings can help you make a guess at whether something is going to look as expensive in real life as it does on the site.
Discount: How much does it have off? Outside of major sale events, discounts on Amazon can be small, but it pays to be conscious of not buying larger investment pieces only because they have a little money off. It's better to shop with your heart, with a little bit of head, rather than buying the most discounted option, only not to love it once it arrives.
